welcome

Our beautiful town is one of the highest and most panoramic in all of Alessandria province at 410 meters (over 1300ft) above sea level. In the Middle Ages, Villadeati was an important center belonging to the Marchese of Monferrato. Their commanding stone fortress was destroyed during wars of domination over the territory. But in the 1700's, a magnificent golden-ochra castle "Belvedere", in the style of Juvarra, was built on the fortress's site.
Villadeati maintained a position of importance during the 19th century, not only in Monferrato, but throughout the Kingdoms of Sardinia and Italy. However, as has been the case with so many country towns in the provinces of Asti and Alessandria, in the 20th C. population shifted to the cities.
Today, the town and its six picturesque hamlets: Zanco, Pavo, Trittango, Lussello, Fontanina, and Vaderengo have an aspect of bucolic tranquility which seems to belie the illustrious and turbulent past. But, Villadeati, with its traditional architecture, friendly people, and spectacular vistas is just waiting for the chance to surprise and delight those curious travelers who venture this way. Come visit us!

"Tempo" is a civic association born in 2008 in and for our village, Villadeati, and its surrounding hamlets.
It's members are young and less young, but have in common a strong pride of place and desire to promote our wonderful territory. In a short time, the immagination and hard work of the members has re-established old traditions and given life to new ones: festivals, markets, and concerts. Everyone pitches in to collaborate, according to their abilities and talents. We are but, you don't have to be a member or even Villadease to appreciate "Tempo".
Just come visit and enjoy!
